Getting Started - Singlink

Overview

Singlink lets you create rooms, import songs or create sets, and control what viewers see in real time via an admin panel and a dedicated screen view.

Quick Start

1) Create a room

From the homepage, enter a room name and click Create. Use the provided admin link to control the room.

2) Open views

Admin: /room/<name>/admin — manage slides, setlists, timers, and background videos.
Viewer: /room/<name> — phone/tablet friendly live lyric view.
Screen: /screen/<name> — projection output with crossfades and background video.

3) Add content

Search (iTunes): start typing to find a track; picks with lyrics auto-create slides and title.
Paste text: paste lines; the first non-empty line becomes the song title. Click Import to create a song.
Upload .txt: upload a text file (one slide per line).
Import setlist: upload a setlist text exported from Singlink to add multiple songs at once.

4) Present

Click slides to go to them. Use ←/→ or Space/Enter to navigate.
Enable a background video and timer overlay if desired.
Viewer page has a toggle to show all lyrics with the current verse highlighted.

Admin Controls

Slides grid: click to go live; right-click to edit; drag to reorder; copy/paste with Cmd/Ctrl+C.
Transitions: choose cut/fade and duration; applies to next navigation.
Background: select a video, Apply to set, Clear to remove.
Timers: choose HH:MM:SS, Insert a timer slide, Start/Stop/Reset. Auto-start toggle starts the timer upon navigating to that timer slide.
Song imports: list of past imports; click a song to load that set.
Download: choose to download the current song or the entire setlist.
CCLI: enter a CCLI number to add “CCLI <number>” on the title slide.

Export / Import

Download current song: saves a text file of the current slides.
Download setlist: saves a text file containing all songs in this room.
Import setlist: select a setlist text file (or a single-song JSON exported from Singlink). The app detects the format and imports accordingly.

Licensing & CCLI

Displaying song lyrics publicly may require a license. Here's what you need to know:

When you likely need a CCLI license:

Church services and worship gatherings
Public events where lyrics are projected
Livestreamed or recorded services
Youth groups, retreats, and conferences

When you may not need one:

Private, personal use (home worship, practice)
Songs in the public domain
Original songs you've written

Adding your CCLI number in Singlink:

When importing a song, click the CCLI button in the lyrics preview toolbar to enter your license number. It will be added to the title slide automatically.

Tips

Tap left/right sides on mobile in admin to navigate quickly.
Viewer all-lyrics mode is scrollable and highlights the current lyric without auto-scroll.
Use the screen preview toggle in admin to see what the screen output looks like inline.
